The chief executive officer of St. Louis-based Schnucks is pleased with this week’s big turnout at the opening of the new store on Columbia’s Clark lane.
Todd Schnuck helped cut the ribbon at the store, which is near I-70’s Lake of the Woods exit.
“Anytime we have a new store opening, people just get so excited because it’s an addition to their community. And we think this is an addition that (residents) will continue to be very excited about,” Schnuck says.
This is Schnucks’ fourth store in mid-Missouri. They also have a store on Forum Boulevard in Columbia.
There are “now hiring” signs on several visible spots on Clark Lane, in front of the new store. The 48,000 square foot store opened Wednesday, and has already hired about 80 employees. Mr. Schnuck tells 939 the Eagle that they’re still hiring.
“We’re always looking to hire exciting and outgoing individuals, friendly people. You know, our tag line for so many years has been the friendliest stores in town,” says Schnuck.
Interested applicants can visit the Schnucks careers website. The store is open daily from 6 am to 9 pm.
