Schwartze named chief of Capitol Police

A former Columbia cop is coming back to mid-Missouri.

The state announced Thursday thatZim Schwartze will take over as chief of Missouri Capitol Police starting Jan. 6.

Schwartze spent 20 years with Columbia police and Boone County emergency management. She filed a lawsuit against the city a couple years after she was let go in 2012, and got a settlement.
