Several hundred of the nation’s top college runners are in Columbia Friday morning for the 2021 SEC Cross Country championships, which are taking place at the Gans Creek cross country course.

It’s the first time Missouri has hosted the SEC cross country championships, and they’ll be broadcast live on the SEC Network starting at 10 am. The national anthem will be performed at 9:45 am.

Columbia Mayor Brian Treece describes Gans Creek as a great partnership between Mizzou, the city of Columbia, parks and recreation and Mizzou track and field and cross country.

The entire nation will have an opportunity to see Mizzou cross country standouts Sarah Chapman and Mitchell Small in action.

Admission is free, and it’s open to the public.
