Security guard free from charges in deadly Waffle House shooting

The security guard who shot and killed a man at a Waffle House two years ago will not face criminal charges.

ABC 17 reports prosecutors cited self-defense in the decision to not charge Robert Moses in the shooting death of Anthony Warren on New Years Day 2018.

Moses tried to intervene when Matthew McMillan shot another man in the leg inside the restaurant. When a woman hit Moses with a coffee pot, he turned and fired his gun, hitting Warren.

Moses told officers he never meant to kill anyone. Warren’s family has sued Moses and the Waffle House owner over the incident.
