A state senate committee is looking at whether Missouri should charge sales tax on stuff you buy online from out-of-state companies.
Brent Ghan with the Missouri School Boards Association says that extra revenue could do some good.
“If it comes to pass, [the tax] could be a great source for increasing transportation funding that we need, or perhaps for early childhood education programs,” Ghan tells Missourinet.
One state senator has suggested giving you a tax break to cancel out the extra potential internet charges.
