Senator and medical doctor does not support PDMP

A state Senator, who is also a medical doctor, does not support a prescription drug monitoring program for Missouri.

“It’s a policy, well-meaning, ‘We’re going to do this big government program to target bad guys.’ But it ends up only affecting the people who obey the law,” Republican Sen. Bob Onder says.

The PDMP would allow doctors and pharmacists to track medications so that patients don’t abuse the drugs. Missouri is the only state in the country without one.

Columbia and Jefferson City are among the cities already under a PDMP based out of the St. Louis County. Most of the state’s population falls under that PDMP.
