Judge approves settlement in Hallsville schools wrongful death case

A federal judge on Tuesday approved the settlement between the Hallsville school district and the mother of a student who committed suicide.

Elizabeth Overstreet claimed in her lawsuit that her daughter, Rylie Wagner, killed herself in 2017 because of bullying within the Hallsville district.

The settlement announced this week in federal court is for a confidential amount of money.
