Columbia’s newly-elected fourth ward city council member was sworn-in Monday evening at city hall.

Sharon Jones received the oath of office at Monday’s council meeting.
She won a three-way race two weeks ago and campaigned door-to-door and focused on three main priorities: growth with a purpose, standing up for Columbia and investing in city employees.

Growth with a purpose was a top priority, including new development that fits the neighborhoods around it instead of overwhelming them. Jones also calls for attainably priced housing in every neighborhood.
