A man is shot dead near a home north of Columbia over the weekend.
Boone County Sheriff’s deputies say they found the person who shot Allen Heywood Saturday afternoon at around 1 p.m., but did not arrest that person.
Heywood, 27, died after getting shot outside the home on Wagon Trail Road near Highway 63.
Authorities are still investigating, but said there are no other suspects or threats to the community.
