Arrest after shots fired near local church funeral service

Police have made an arrest after shots were fired outside a Columbia church during a funeral service.

Witnesses reported hearing more than seven gunshots at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday near Christian Fellowship Church on Christian Fellowship Road near Scott Blvd. No word of any injuries or property damage.

CPD announced late Saturday it had arrested a suspect, 18-year-old John Cosey, Jr. of Columbia.

The funeral was for Ahmonta Harris, who was shot and killed on Limoges Drive this week.
