Significant damage to Hearnes Center after water leak

A water leak has done significant damage to the Hearnes Center, including the arena floor.

Workers noticed the leak early Saturday at the facility on the Mizzou campus. A spokesman says it’s estimated the leak has caused more than $100,000 in damage. It is not clear yet whether the Hearnes Center floor will have to be replaced.

The Hearnes Center opened in 1972. It is the home of several Mizzou sports. Volleyball is in season right now.
