Missing Columbia man found safe

Authorities say a missing Columbia man has been found safe.

Columbia police confirmed Tuesday afternoon William Heggarty, 77, who has dementia, left his home on Topaz Drive that morning. They had issued a Silver Advisory to help search for him.

Heggarty was found safe and not hurt. He is now back with his family.
