Slick roads expected in mid-Missouri Thursday morning

Watch for freezing rain and slick roads on Thursday morning.

National Weather Service meteorologist Jon Carney said early Thursday that temperatures will drop below 32 degrees in the Columbia and Jefferson City areas as light rain keeps falling until about 11 a.m.

“You could have a very fast freeze…and the roads would go from just wet to icy in a very short period of time.”

Carney says we will dry out this afternoon, but temperatures will keep falling with strong winds. Overnight lows will be in the single digits.

Most schools, including Mizzou, do not have class Thursday.
