Smaller snow forecast for Columbia

The latest winter storm forecast does not look as bad as it once did for most of mid-Missouri.

ABC 17 meteorologist Brigit Mahoney says the rain and snow mix will stay mostly rain in Columbia and south until early tomorrow (sat) morning.

“That’s why our southern counties won’t see as much. Once it shifts to all snow, the intensity with the system by Saturday morning will be lightening up.”

Mahoney is calling for about 1-3″ inches of snow on Saturday along and south of I-70 in mid-Missouri. We could still see 4-7″ north of the interstate.
