Snodgrass seeking re-election to Columbia’s school board; Hayes not seeking full term

Four candidates are seeking two seats on the Columbia school board for the April election.

The candidate filing period ended this week. Board vice president Jeanne Snodgrass is seeking re-election to a second term. James Gordon and John Potter, who ran unsuccessfully this past spring, are in the race, along with newcomer Alvin Cobbins.

CPS board member Karen Hayes, who was appointed to the board in June, is not running in April. Former State Rep. Chuck Basye (R-Rocheport), who finished fourth in the April school board race, is not running this year.
