Special prosecutor takes over Fizer case

The Pettis County attorney wants a special prosecutor to look at the Hannah Fizer case.

A deputy shot and killed the 25-year-old during a traffic stop near Highway 50 in Sedalia in June. The deputy says Fizer claimed she had a gun, and threatened to shoot. State investigators did not find a gun in Fizer’s car.

The Highway Patrol wrapped up its investigation last week. The Pettis County prosecutor asked for outside help from Stephen Sokoloff, General Counsel for the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services, on Tuesday to protect the ethics and integrity of the investigation.
