Missouri breaks its record for daily coronavirus cases two days in a row.
Another 1,927 positive cases were confirmed Wednesday, about 200 higher than the previous record. That’s the eighth straight day the state has seen more than a thousand new cases. ABC 17 reports Missouri is now in the White House’s COVID-19 “red zone.”
Seven more people have died from COVID-19 in the state, for a total of 1,220.
Saline County reported its seventh death from the disease Wednesday. The county has reported the most deaths out of all mid-Missouri counties. Officials in the county also confirmed seven more coronavirus cases Wednesday.
Boone County had an above-average 28 new cases Wednesday. Cole County reported 15 new positives, which matches its highest number for a single day. Callaway reported four new cases over a four-day span. Moniteau County added seven more positives.
