State representative plans to push texting while driving ban

Many states in the country have a total ban on texting while driving.

State Rep. Jim Hansen says he will push measures in Jefferson City next year to add Missouri to that list.

“There’s been a few bills last year filed along that line, and I’m going to still try to be involved in that process, doing my bill or somebody else’s bill, to maybe elevate the texting and driving safety issue that we have,” Hansen said to Missourinet.

Hansen is a Republican from the Northeast Missouri town of Frankford.
