It’s not clear yet what caused a Columbia house fire.
Crews saw heavy fire and smoke coming from the back window of the house on Melbourne Street near Paris Road and College Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
Investigators say it started in a storage room, and caused $16,000 in damage.
No people were home during the fire. Crews did rescue a cat.
