Stretch of Highway 15 north of Mexico closed indefinitely

The stretch of Highway 15 a mile north of Mexico won’t be re-opening anytime soon.

MoDot says about 600 feet of the road’s surface is significantly damaged after a gas line exploded early Sunday morning.

Engineers say parts of the road are pitted like a golf ball.  MoDot has to wait until the weather improves before making temporary repairs to seal the road.

The nearby Davis Fork Bridge wasn’t damaged and passed an emergency inspection.
