Strong winds damage Capitol wrap

Over the weekend, some of the biggest blustering in Jefferson City happened outside the state Capitol building, not inside it.

The strong winds tore off some of the covering protecting the Capitol during the big renovation project.

Jefferson City’s airport recorded a 56 mph wind gust, according to the National Weather Service. It topped out at 63 mph at Columbia Regional Airport.
