Suspect arrested after downtown Columbia shooting

Police make an arrest after a weekend shooting in downtown Columbia.

Officers say there were gunshots near Ninth and Cherry streets Saturday night at around 10:15 p.m. They arrested the suspect around 10th and Elm streets. He was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

No injuries or damage were reported.
