It’s not an event that you might attend, but the annual “Taste of Jefferson City” legislative reception won’t happen in January.
The event brings lawmakers and Capitol City restaurant owners together for a meet-and-greet. But with the passage of the Clean Missouri constitutional amendment, the Jefferson City Chamber has cancelled the reception.
The amendment caps all gifts to lawmakers at $5. Many restaurants aren’t happy with the decision, saying it will negatively affect their business during the session.
