Mid-Missouri’s active weather pattern will continue for the next few days, with on and off again rain. There is a chance of severe thunderstorms in mid-Missouri tonight (Monday) in Jefferson City and Columbia.

National Weather Service (NWS) St. Louis meteorologist Melissa Mainhart tells 939 the Eagle that thunderstorms are expected to arrive in the area at about 9, but they’ll be attached to a cold front. She says any severe thunderstorm depends on how much instability can built up today.

Damaging wind will be the primary threat, if there are severe thunderstorms tonight. Storms are expected to end in Columbia, Jefferson City, Fulton and Boonville at about midnight.
