Columbia’s Truman VA Hospital has earned a four-star rating in the 2026 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) report.
The highest rating is a five. CMS’ overall hospital quality star ratings are based on five categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience and timely/effective care.

Truman VA medical center director Paul Hopkins describes the four-star rating as a reflection of the dedication of their entire team. Mr. Hopkins says the rating underscores Truman VA’s commitment to delivering safe and high-quality care.
