Two candidates running for 45th Dist. state rep seat

Two candidates filed to replace Democrat Kip Kendrick as state representative for part of Columbia.

Democrat David Tyson Smith and Libertarian Glenn Nielsen beat Wednesday’s filing deadline for the 45^th District seat. The special election is on April 6.

Kendrick announced two weeks after he was re-elected last November that he was leaving his post as state representative to serve as chief of staff for state Senator Greg Razer.
