Two people plead guilty to their roles in a huge marijuana operation that turned deadly in Columbia.
Nawel Girma, 25, of Columbia and Cody Davis, 31, from Redding, California, admitted Tuesday in federal court to marijuana trafficking.
The operation is connected to the death of Augustus Roberts at a home by Old Hawthorne golf course in east Columbia in 2017. Roberts was killed during a home invasion, and hundreds of pounds of high-grade marijuana were stolen from a truck parked in his driveway.
Several others are facing charges or have pleaded guilty in connection to the scheme.
