Two men hurt after gas leak fire in west Columbia

Two men suffer burn injuries after a gas leak fire in west Columbia.

Authorities say they responded to the fire at a home on Sussex Drive at around 2 p.m. Wednesday. The fire had melted siding on the house.

Investigators say the two men were digging in the yard when they hit an underground gas line, igniting the fire. They both received burn injuries to their face and arms. One of them went to the hospital, and the other refused medical attention.
