The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says a Toyota Rav driven by an 18-year-old Sturgeon resident failed to stop at a stop sign at 124 and Route CC. Her vehicle then traveled into the path of a vehicle driven by a Jefferson City man.

Missouri state troopers say an occupant in the first vehicle, 18-year-old Kara Teel of Centralia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Toyota Rav’s driver, 18-year-old Madison McArthur, suffered serious injuries and has been transported to University Hospital in Columbia.

The Patrol says the Jefferson City motorist, 34-year-old Daniel Brandt, was not injured.
