A U.S. Navy team with 40 military medical personnel are heading to St. Louis to support hospital staff strained by COVID.

Missouri Governor Mike Parson’s spokeswoman, Kelli Jones, tells 939 the Eagle that the medical personnel are expected to arrive in St. Louis Saturday and are expected to begin their first shifts on Tuesday, which is February 1.

The personnel include doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists. They’ll be heading to BJC Christian Hospital.

The governor reiterates that the best way you can aid hospitals and health care employees is to consider vaccination, to protect yourself and your families.
