UM Curators reject face mask proposals

The University of Missouri has a record number of active COVID cases among its students now, with 163. Our news partner ABC-17 reports active cases first surpassed 100 on New Year’s Eve.

The UM Board of Curators voted on Tuesday to reject two separate face mask orders.

There was an indoor mask requirement on all four campuses this past fall. The four campuses are Mizzou in Columbia and UM campuses in St. Louis, Kansas City and Rolla. It required all students, faculty, staff and visitors to wear masks in classrooms and in meeting spaces where social distancing wasn’t possible, regardless of vaccination status.
