The United Way of Central Missouri’s big fundraising campaign is under way.
Andrew Grabau says the fundraising push will look different during a pandemic.
“The message is still the same, and that is that we have to raise awareness and mobilize the power of our community to raise funds so we can help in addressing barriers to individuals and families living in poverty.”
Grabau says it is a tough time for the dozens of local nonprofits his organization supports.
“A lot of them are seeing a double whammy. They’re seeing that there’s an increase in the demand for services. And then they’re seeing a decrease in revenue in how they’re able to raise money.”
