Up to 7 inches of snow possible starting Wednesday

Forecasters say a winter storm could bring seven inches of snow to mid-Missouri, starting at about 9 a.m. Wednesday and continuing into early Thursday.

National Weather Service meteorologist Thomas Spriggs says the snow will intensify quickly once it arrives, making roads hazardous. The heaviest intensity will likely be during the daytime hours. Spriggs is calling for 4-7 inches of snow.

“Snow is going to continue, it looks like right on through [Wednesday night] until maybe just before sunrise [Thursday], but it’s not going to be heavy throughout the entire time,” Spriggs says.

Most schools canceled classes on Wednesday. That list is here.
