Columbia Police say an 18-year-old male has been shot to death near East Broadway and Old Highway 63. A juvenile has been arrested. CPD investigators say 18-year-old Zarian Simpson of Columbia suffered a gunshot wound and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died. Columbia Police say Sunday night’s shooting happened at about 8 o’clock.
CPD detectives have arrested a juvenile on charges of second degree murder, first degree robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. The juvenile suspect’s name is a closed record under state law, unless he’s later certified as an adult.
