UPDATE: 78-year-old Columbia pedestrian struck by vehicle on North Keene dies

A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening on Columbia’s North Keene near Women’s Hospital has died.

Columbia Police say 78-year-old James Lee Allen was struck at about 5:05 Wednesday evening near North Keene and Wingate court. Mr. Allen was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead on Thursday (yesterday).

CPD is thanking other first responders who were at the scene, adding that the investigation by CPD’s traffic unit continues.
