State transportation officials are alerting Columbia-area motorists to be prepared for long delays this weekend, when the St. Charles road bridge over I-70 is demolished.
This is at mile marker 131 at the Lake of the Woods exit. It’s near EquipmentShare’s headquarters.
Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) officials will brief reporters Thursday at a 1 pm press conference near the bridge. The bridge closes at 7 Friday night, and MoDOT has said you can expect backups of around an hour in both directions Saturday and Sunday.
The new overpass bridge will be designed to accommodate three lanes in each direction of I-70.
