The ground across mid-Missouri remains saturated after aweekend of heavy rain.

Columbia Fire Department (CFD) spokesman Skyler Clark tells 939 the Eagle that firefighters were involved in two water rescues this morning. He says they rescued two occupants of that vehicle stuck in floodwaters on Creasy Springs at 4:45 this morning.

Mr. Clark also says CFD assisted the Boone County Fire Protection District with a water rescue at about 6:30 this morning on Blackfoot road, after a vehicle was stuck in floodwaters. The occupant was rescued.

National Weather Service (NWS) St. Louis meteorologist Melissa Delia tells 939 the Eagle that 7.32 inches of rain fell in May at Columbia Regional Airport (COU), as of late Saturday night. While we don’t have Sunday’s numbers yet, that’s about three inches above normal.
