A Columbia resident remains jailed without bond after being charged with first degree assault and two other felonies for Friday night’s shooting on Moss street, near Old Highway 63 and the Business Loop.

18-year-old Kieran Piersee is also charged with armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. CPD’s three-page probable cause statement says Piersee allegedly fired 12 or 13 shots from an assault rifle at a homeless man for cutting through his yard. Court documents quote the victim as saying he was not walking in Piersee’s yard but was in apartment grass. The victim was shot in the foot and in a calf and suffered non life-threatening wounds.
CPD’s investigation continues, and anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call Columbia Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS. Your identity will be protected.
