46-year-old Rickey Ross Deford of mid-Missouri’s Huntsville is a parolee with a lengthy criminal record. He’s served several stints in prison, and Boone County sheriff’s deputies were searching for him on numerous felony warrants, including failure to register as a sex offender. Deford was also wanted for 12 felony counts of fraudulent use of a credit device.

Monday morning’s pursuit began on West Belview drive and continued on Scott Boulevard to Stadium and eventually to Interstate 70. It also went down College and Stadium and later near Faurot Field. The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed into a Boone County deputy’s vehicle on Champions drive in Columbia.

Boone County sheriff’s deputies also are seeking kidnapping charges against Deford: there was a passenger in Deford’s vehicle who tells deputies that the suspect refused to let the passenger out during the pursuit.
