After 50 days, an injured Columbia lineman who was shocked and severely injured on a pole in May is out of the burn unit at St. John’s Mercy in St. Louis.
Kody Kile’s father-in-law, First State Community Bank president Joe Miller, tells 939 the Eagle that Kody is currently in rehabilitation in St. Louis, learning to walk again and adjusting. Mr. Miller tells 939 the Eagle that they hope to get him home in the next few days or weeks. Miller says Kody Kile’s attitude is incredible and that the prayers of all of our listeners are working.
Columbia fire chief Brian Schaeffer says the lineman suffered permanent tissue damage and was clinically dead, after the May shock stopped his heart. The chief has praised City of Utilities linemen who took quick action to save Mr. Kile’s life.
Kody’s new slogan is “adapt and overcome.” Mr. Miller is thankful to the numerous people who have contributed to the gofundme for Kile and his family: that gofundme has raised more than $78,000.
