UPDATE: Columbia man jailed for weekend shots fired incident in downtown Columbia

Boone County prosecutors are currently reviewing possible charges against a Colorado man accused of shooting at two men in downtown Columbia this weekend.

The incident happened at about 2:45 Saturday morning in the 800 block of East Broadway. CPD investigators say the two men were not injured; adding that this was a targeted event and not a random one.

Columbia Police are seeking first degree assault, armed criminal action and other felony charges against 41-year-old Charlie Sneed. Columbia Police say Sneed is from Colorado, while the Boone County jail roster lists him as a Columbia resident.

CPD investigators say both evidence of shots being fired and the alleged firearm were recovered at the scene. The investigation continues now and Columbia Police encourage anyone with information on the incident to call Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.
