A Columbia man who has served multiple stints in prison for robbery, assault and burglary is now charged with numerous felonies for Sunday’s shots fired incident on Rice road.
50-year-old Clyde Johnson is charged in Boone County with first degree kidnapping, two counts of armed criminal action and four other felonies. He is currently jailed without bond. A court filing from the Boone County prosecutor’s office alleges Johnson is violent and made threats to a woman to “end her DNA”, while armed with a firearm. As a convicted felon, Johnson cannot legally have a gun.
Boone County prosecutors describe Johnson as a flight risk in their court filing, noting he has at least one outstanding warrant and that he’s assaulted law enforcement officers in the past.
