UPDATE: Columbia man jailed without bond for Wednesday’s shooting on Madison street

Columbia Police have arrested a 21-year-old local man for Wednesday evening’s shooting on Madison street, which is just south of the Business Loop.

Columbia Police are seeking multiple charges against 21-year-old Michael Proctor Jr.: first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Criminal charges are currently under review. Proctor is currently jailed without bond, according to the Boone County Sheriff Department’s website.

CPD investigators say Wednesday’s shooting happened at about 5:45 pm. Police say they found an adult male victim in the 1100 block of Madison with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
