Boone County’s prosecutor has filed second degree murder and other felony charges against a Columbia man accused of shooting a man to death Saturday night at Oak Towers on North Garth.
66-year-old Michael Dean Graham is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm since he’s a convicted felon. The Columbia Police Department’s three-page probable cause statement says Graham allegedly used a stolen revolver to kill Vasshon Haywood during an argument. Court documents also say Graham tried to hide the revolver and some PCP in a neighboring apartment.
Graham has multiple previous convictions, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. He’s scheduled to make his initial court appearance at 1 this afternoon via video in Boone County Circuit Court, before Judge Kayla Inez Jackson-Williams.
Oak Towers’ website says it’s “designed for active, independent seniors” who enjoy things like gardening, crafts, cooking and billiards.
