Columbia Police and the North Missouri Drug Task Force say this week’s fentanyl seizure is one of the most significant drug seizures in Columbia in recent memory.
CPD says convicted felon Frazier Pratt Jr., who has a criminal record dating back 37 years, was allegedly caught with 1.4 pounds of suspected fentanyl. The 61-year-old Pratt is charged in Boone County Circuit Court with five felonies, including trafficking drugs and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Columbia Police Department’s two-page probable cause statement says a search warrant at Pratt’s home allegedly found three guns. As a convicted felon, Pratt is not allowed to possess firearms.

Court documents quote Pratt as admitting to Columbia Police that he traffics fentanyl and had the guns, despite being a convicted felon. CPD says Pratt had enough fentanyl to supply about 6,300 user-level doses. A court filing from Boone County prosecutors says Pratt is a danger to the community, saying that “fentanyl is the leading killer of residents of Boone County and the defendant possessed more than a pound of it.” Boone County prosecutors also describe Pratt as a flight risk, saying he has close ties to St. Louis.
CPD is praising the North Missouri Drug Task Force for their assistance in the investigation.
