A 78-year-old Columbia motorist has been killed in Thursday afternoon’s two-vehicle collision on Highway 63 north of Columbia. Missouri state troopers say the crash happened on northbound Highway 63, about a mile south of Calvert Hill.

What we know: The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says the 78-year-old victim’s vehicle entered Highway 63 from a private drive and crossed into the path of a second vehicle. The victim’s driver’s side was struck by that second vehicle and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

What remains unclear: The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of victims in Missouri traffic crashes, so we don’t know the victim’s name.
