A Columbia man accused of stabbing his father to death will make his initial arraignment this afternoon at the Boone County Courthouse, via video.

Boone County prosecutors have charged 22-year-old Alen Muslic with first degree murder and armed criminal action. Muslic is currently jailed without bond this morning under an order from Boone County Circuit Judge Jeff Harris, who describes Muslic as a danger to the community.

The Columbia Police Department’s graphic three-page probable cause statement says Muslic stabbed his father to death early Thursday morning, then dragged his body into the back yard of their Medina drive home. CPD’s probable cause statement says Muslic has ties to Bosnia and that he could be capable of fleeing the country.

Court documents say the suspect’s father, 62-year-old Zufer Muslic, suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alen Muslic has been booked into the Boone County jail, after spending several days in-custody at the Fulton State Hospital. Court documents indicate there was an argument between the father and son, and those court documents quote Alen Muslic as admitting that he grabbed two kitchen knives after the argument and that he made the decision to follow his father outside to kill him.
