Columbia officials say all tests have come back clean regarding the safety of our drinking water.
City of Columbia Utilities outreach supervisor Jason West tells 939 the Eagle that all equipment is up and running normally and that clarity of the water has already started coming back.
Several 939 the Eagle listeners reported Wednesday that their water appeared to be brown or yellow. Columbia officials emphasize that the water is safe to drink. City of Columbia Utilities says excess minerals in the water pipes and water storage facilities were disturbed, as part of the McBaine water treatment plant upgrade. The city says that caused discoloration to the drinking water.
