46-year-old Andrew Lawrence Taylor Peck was arrested Friday evening for allegedly stealing the campaign signs near Scott Boulevard. The pastor was released from the Boone County jail after posting a $500 bond, according to the Sheriff Department’s website.

Broadway Christian church board chair Darren Day has released a statement, which says the church does not condone or support this behavior and that “these actions do not reflect the values of our church or our commitment to community respect and unity.” The statement also says Broadway Christian church remains committed to being a welcoming and inclusive place for all people, regardless of political affiliation or background. The church says it does not support any political party or ideology and that they believe in holding one another accountable while also offering compassion, grace and space for personal growth.

939 the Eagle’s Mike Murphy, who publishes Comobuz, reports Peck is charged with misdemeanor stealing. Murphy quotes the Boone County Sheriff’s probable cause statement as saying Peck admits taking three big “Murph for Mayor” signs and two smaller ones in an area along Scott Boulevard.
