Columbia Police need your assistance in solving Sunday night’s homicide on Rice road in northeast Columbia. Rice road is north of Clark lane, and there was more gunfire there on Memorial Day afternoon.

CPD investigators have not released the male victim’s name nor age. He was shot at about 10:20 pm on Sunday. Columbia Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. There’s no word on any arrests. Police detectives are asking anyone with information about the homicide to call Columbia Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS. You can call that number anonymously.

While reporting on-scene on Memorial Day afternoon, an ABC-17 News reporter heard seven to nine gunshots in the 4600 block of Rice road. The reporter saw two males running from Rice road down Whispering Meadows, before running in opposite directions. A neighbor tells KMIZ they saw someone get into a vehicle.
